Quick Start

What is Quick Start?

QuickStart allows you to store general logger- and presentation settings in a Quick Start file, thus making it easy to quickly start a particular type of measurement. This can be helpful if you have a process where you regularly carry out measurements where you want the logger settings, scaling, colors and everything else to be identical every time. It is also possible to determine whether files should be saved automatically when the measurement is completed, and if so, where they are stored and what the files should be named.

 

Create a Quick Start

Create a new Quick Start by clicking the "New" button at the bottom. When you do this, a dialog pops up where you get the opportunity to enter the name of your Quick Start and choose which loggers should be included. Click on "Add logger ..." if you want to search for connected logger or click the "Add from file ..." if you want to add a logger that you used in the previous measurement. If you want to change the configuration of a logger you can select it in the "Sources"-list and then click "Configure ..." to get to the configuration menu.

In the next step you to get to choose whether you want the files to be saved automatically, and if so, where they should be stored, and what they will be called. In "When new recording is created", you can choose whether you want the file to have a serial number, a time stamp or if you want to add to an existing file.

 

In the next step, you choose whether you want to copy a presentation template from an existing file. Note that the presentation template is copied from the existing file, so changes you make in the template file afterwards do not affect your Quick Start.

 

Change settings in a Quick Start

If you select an existing Quick Start to the left the settings are presented in the table to the right. The table contains three main categories; Source, Target and Presentation.

Under Source, you can see which loggers are included in your Quick Start. You also have the option to change their settings by selecting one of the blue cells and then click the three dots that appear to the right.

Under Target you have the opportunity to choose whether files are automatically saved and if so, where they should be stored and what they will be called.

In Presentation you can select a file that you want to copy the presentation settings from. Note that the settings are copied from the file, so a change made afterwards in the origin file does not affect your Quick Start. To reverse to the default presentation settings, select the blue cell and click the three dots that pop up and deselect "Use template".

 

Start a measurement.

To start a measurement, select the Quick Start you want to use and click Start at the bottom. When you do this EasyView automatically searches for connected instruments. Select the logger you want to start, and click OK.
